Willidene Mae Marsh, age, 88, a resident of Philippi, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at her home. Having been preceded in death by her parents she was also preceded in death by her Soulmate and life partner Thomas K. Wolfe who passed away on February 7, 2008.
Willidene graduated as Valedictorian from Philippi High School with the class of 1948. She attended several banking courses and graduated from the WV School of Banking and WV Life Insurance.
Willidene worked at the Farmers Supply from 1948-1955, CIA, in Washington, DC from 1955-1957, Wolfe and Co. in Philippi from 1957 – 1970, and First National Bank in Philippi from 1970- 1996 at which time she happily retired.
Willidene loved to travel and has done so extensively, making several trips including those to Hong Kong, Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii. She enjoyed going out to eat, shopping, traveling, reading, making jewelry and sewing, and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Willidene loved the color blue and birds. She was a Methodist by faith and was a member of the Cross Roads United Methodist Church in Tacy but regularly attended Crim Memorial United Methodist Church in Philippi.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday May 24, from 4-8 pm and on Saturday May 25, from 8 am- 1 pm the service hour with Rev.
