Barbara E. Snider

September 18, 1938 ~ June 24, 2025

Barbara E. Snider, age 86, a resident of River Oaks Nursing Facility in Nutter Fort, and a former resident of Philippi, passed away Tuesday June 24, 2025. Barb was born September 18, 1938 in Philippi a daughter of Adrian Burl and Vondale Lee (Jones) Jones. Barb was united in marriage on September 3, 1959 to Russell Lowell Snider who preceded her in death April 7, 2012. Barb retired with 32 years of service as a cook for Barbour County Schools. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and word searches, she also liked to can and cook. She was an immaculate cleaner and would have a spotless house. Barb always looked forward to her weekly hair styling where she would get up to date on the current happening in town. She would always make daily phone calls checking on family and friends. Barb was a member of the Union Church of Christ and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Barb is survived by her children Kelli Hadsell and husband Bruce, Kevin Snider and wife Debbie; four grandchildren, two step- grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren. Barb was preceded in death by her parents Burl and Vondale Jones; husband Russell Snider; siblings Rosalee, Scott, Ann, Alberta, and Patsy; grandson Evan Snider. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday June 27, from 4-7 pm. A time of reflection will be at 7 pm with Speaker Russell Burner officiating.
