Benton “Ben” Corder, age 55, a resident of Hilltop Trailer Court, passed away Sunday, afternoon, March 10, 2019, at his residence, in Philippi, WV. He was born July 30, 1963, in Cleveland, OH, a son of the late Glen “Bud” Corder and Shirley (Malcolm) Corder.
He is survived by his daughter, Nicolette (Corder) Sworen, her husband, Michael and his only granddaughter, Emelia.
He is also survived by his mom, Shirley, of Philippi, oldest sister, Arthella and her husband Jose Sariego, of Cleveland, OH, Glen J. Corder, II, Brownton, Sherie Bolton and fiancé Jason Baber of Harrisonburg, VA. He was special in the lives of all of his nephews and nieces. There are several great nephews and great nieces that knew him as well. He was a handyman and a mechanic, who could do almost anything, and he enjoyed watching movies.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday March 14, from 5-8 pm and on Friday March 15, from 8- 11 am the service hour with Reverend Patty Post whom Ben called her “Aunt Patty” officiating. Interment will follow in the Point Pleasant Cemetery.







My deepest condolences to the Corder family and all of Bennys friends. I am so saddened by this. Benny was a good guy. He would always speak to me when passing and had a great sense of humor.I always liked him and think the world of his mom & sister whom I use to work with at the hospital. Rest in peace Benny.
