Carl Forrest Starr

Carl Forrest Starr, age 65, a resident of Boulder Community, Buckhannon, passed away Sunday July 26, 2026 at his residence.  Carl was born September 14, 1960 in Columbus, Mississippi, a son of the late Lewis Mitchell Starr and Maragret Ann ( Keener) Starr.

Carl worked for various oil and gas companies.  He was the co-owner of Grumpz Restaurant in Philippi with his son Michael.  Carl enjoyed fishing, camping, dealing and trading cars, he also enjoyed working with electronics.  Carl raised and cared for Arabian Horses for many years.  He was also involved in with the Arabian Horse Association in West Virginia.

Carl is survived by his son Michael Starr and fiancé Autumn Bailey; sister Carolyn White; as well as nieces and nephews.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Maragret Starr; and sister Connie Starr.

The family will welcome friends at Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday August 1, from 10:00 am- 12:00pm.  Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Carl will be laid to rest by his father in the Horner Cemetery.
