September 10, 1955 ~ October 18, 2026

Born in: Rosemont , West Virginia
Resided in: Philippi, West Virginia

Carolyn Sue McGee, age 71, a resident of Philippi, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Carolyn was a woman of unwavering faith, remarkable strength, and a heart overflowing with love. A fighter until the very end, she remained steadfast in her faith until her last breath, leaving behind a beautiful testimony of courage, grace, and devotion to the Lord.

Carolyn was born on September 10, 1955, in Rosemont, WV, a daughter of Bernard “Rex” and Elenor (Maxwell) Jenkins.

Carolyn was united in marriage to her loving husband of 51 years, Carl McGee, who survives. Together, they built a life centered around faith, family, and a love that stood the test of time.

Also surviving are her four children, Joe McGee and wife Darline of Geneva, OH, Brad McGee and wife Faith Ann of Flemington, Patricia Conrad and husband Ken of Geneva, OH, and Mary Jolliffe and husband John of Morgantown; grandchildren, Logan and wife Kyla, Caden, Alexis, Shawn and fiancé Sydney, Brittani and husband Nick, Tiffani and husband Alex, Shyann, Katie, Kyle, Justin, Jakob, and Charity and husband Allen; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Avaiah, Genesis, Kamari, Ava, Bella, James, Noah, and Arabella.

Carolyn is also survived by her sisters, Julie Bartlett and Betty Ann Jenkins and companion Chuck; brothers, Donnie Jenkins, Terry Jenkins and wife Christine, and Bernard Jenkins.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers, John Jenkins and wife Betty, Gary Jenkins, and Ronnie Jenkins; and brother-in-law, Leonard Bartlett, great grandchildren baby McGee, baby Hidalgo, and Lyrik Conrad.

Carolyn’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved each of them deeply, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart. More importantly, she taught her family not only how to love, but how to give love freely and unconditionally. Through her words, actions, and selfless spirit, she instilled in those around her the importance of kindness, compassion, and putting others before themselves.

Carolyn had a special love for Christmas and all the joy the season brought. She enjoyed cooking for those she loved, shopping, going out to eat, and faithfully saving her change. She was known for her Christian-themed shirts, which proudly reflected the faith she carried in her heart. She especially enjoyed participating in Secret Sister exchanges, finding happiness in giving to others and making someone feel special.

Above all, Carolyn was a devoted Christian whose faith was the foundation of her life. She was a prayer warrior, always lifting others up in prayer, even while facing her own battles. Her selfless nature and genuine concern for others were evident in everything she did. No matter what challenges life placed before her, Carolyn continued to fight with determination, trusting in God’s promises and never losing sight of her heavenly home.

Carolyn’s family will welcome friends at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday October 22, from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and again on Friday October 23, from 10:00 to 11:00 am.  Funeral services will begin in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am with Pastor Chrystal Kelley, and Rev Dennie Land officiating.  Carolyn will be laid to rest in the WV National Cemetery in Grafton.
