Charles Newman

Charles A. Newman, age 74, a resident of Philippi passed away Sunday November 25, 2012 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born March 23, 1938 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Albert and Octavia (Collins) Newman. Surviving is: One daughter: Joyce Daugherty and husband Ed of Union Community, Philippi Two sons: Charles Kevin Newman Timothy Scott and wife Valerie both of Philippi Two sisters: Bessie Croston and husband Junior Mae Kennedy and husband Junior both of Philippi One brother: Howard Newman and wife Judy of Canton, OH Aunt: Linda Collins of Philippi Several nieces and nephews Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren Mr. Newman was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald Newman, and Harold Newman, Four sisters: Joann Newman, Shirley, Newman, Libby Hoffman, Annie Justice. Mr. Newman was a past school bus driver for the Barbour Co. Board of Education. He was a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi, on Wednesday November 28, from 6-8 pm and on Thursday November 29, from 8 am – 1 pm the service hour with Rev. Ruston Seaman officiating. Interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery.
