Gene Frances Herbert

Gene Frances Herbert, Jr., age 62, a resident of Philippi, passed away Thursday November 23, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Gene was born May 16, 1961, in Connecticut a son of the late Gene Frances Herbert and Antoinette (LaRose) Herbert who survives in Philippi. Gene was recently married to Pamela June (Amos) Herbert and have been together for 22 years.
Also surviving are children- Gene Herbert III and Vanessa Dean and husband Randy all of Buckhannon; Step-son, Brandon Welch of Clarksburg; grandchildren, Cody Herbert, Alex Dean, Tucker Herbert, Harley Dean, Jillian Dean; step-grandson Logan Welch; sister, Donna Attardo and husband Robert of California.
Gene retired from City Construction as a Foreman. He enjoyed building and working on cars, riding his motorcycle, collecting antiques, and traveling. Gene will be missed by all whom knew him. He was loved by several friends and family.

Gene will truly be missed by many. His wings were ready but our hearts were not. He was an amazing nice funny guy. I really enjoyed the little time I knew him. Wish it was longer but felt like I knew him for years. Rest in paradise uncle Gene. We will miss you but you will never be forgotten.
Our hearts are breaking for all of you on the loss of Gene. He’s not in pain anymore but it’s too soon to lose someone so loved.
