John Ward Reed
March 29, 1946 ~ July 20, 2023
John Reed, age 77, a resident of Moatsville, passed away Thursday July 20, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side. John was born March 29, 1946 in Stephenson, WV a son of the late Jason and Loena Reed. John was united in marriage to Alta (McCartney) Reed who survives at home.
Also surviving is son, Jon Reed; daughters, TJ Reed, and Becky Reed Smith; adopted children, Connor W. Marshall and Malachi D. Reed; brother Reginald Reed; sisters Kathleen Danials, Freeda Sisk, Lynn Hill, Sharon Fee, Sue Holsey, Marilyn Quesenberry; and his favorite niece Debbie Sue.
John served in the US Army.
He enjoyed fishing, traveling on vacations, and gardening. John was a lifetime member of the VFW. In honor of John’s wishes cremation will be honored.

Good riddance, this POS should have been buried in 1989. Shared 15 years of my life with this drunken as$hole, glad he finally left the family at 2 am in the morning, 1989. Had I the chance I would have put him in the ground myself, and to think I ended up living 80 miles away from him 14 years later and for the next 21 years. should have really done that ride last year to see him and throat punch him. to bad he won’t have a grave site, would really love to leave a bit of warm bodily fluids on top of it.
