Resided in: Philippi, West Virginia

Lilah Lea Phillips, of Philippi, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV.

Lilah was born on February 4, 1956, in Canton, Ohio, a daughter of Richard Lee and Gladys L. (Goff) Everson.

She was united in marriage to Ronnie Phillips, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Lilah was a devoted wife, loving mother, and treasured Mammy and Nana. Her family was the center of her world, and nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with those she loved. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, celebrating their accomplishments and treasuring every moment spent together. Lilah had a heart for helping others and was always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or simply be there when someone needed her.

Lilah enjoyed trips to the beach, capturing precious memories through photographs, and spending time in the kitchen. She was a wonderful cook and baker, especially known for making the very best lasagna. As the family’s unofficial photographer, she could always be counted on to have a camera ready, preserving the special moments and memories that her family will now hold even closer to their hearts. She also had a special love for her pets and grand-furbabies, who held a dear place in her heart.

Lilah was a faithful member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, where she lovingly served as Children’s Director and teacher. She had a passion for working with children and sharing her faith, touching many young lives through her kindness, patience, and dedication.

Throughout her life, Lilah was deeply committed to her profession and community. She dedicated over 50 years to the banking industry, working with Barbour County Bank, BC Bank, and Freedom Bank. Her dedication and friendly personality allowed her to build countless friendships throughout the years. She was also a devoted supporter of the Philip Barbour High School Band for over 30 years, generously giving her time and talents and serving as treasurer. Lilah was actively involved with the Barbour County Chamber of Commerce, where she served as Executive Director, always working to support and strengthen the community she loved.

Above all, Lilah will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering love for her family, and the countless ways she made life brighter for those around her. Whether she was preparing a favorite meal, cheering on her grandchildren, capturing a family memory, or helping someone in need, Lilah gave of herself wholeheartedly. Her love and kindness will remain a lasting legacy in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.

Lilah is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Phillips; her children, Jess Phillips, Garrett Phillips and wife Jackie, Mallory Zuercher and husband John, and Heather Kemp; and her cherished grandchildren, Emma Phillips, Lydia Phillips, Katelyn Tompkins, Dylan Phillips, Bella Duke, Nolan Zuercher, and Dillon “Pickle” Kemp.

In addition to her parents, Lilah was preceded in death by her beloved son, Andrew Stephen Phillips, and her brother, Greg Everson.

Lilah held a special place in her heart for the Philip Barbour Band, dedicating countless hours and years of love, encouragement, and support to its students and program. In honor of her devotion and the joy the band brought to her life, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Philip Barbour Band Boosters, helping carry on a tradition that meant so much to her.
