Linton J. Davis age 91 a resident of Mansfield Place, Philippi passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. He was born June 11, 1926 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Junior and Lottie (Mitchell) Davis. He was united in marriage February 28, 1957 to Flora Ellen Davis who preceded him in death August 29, 2008. Surviving are-
Two sons, James L. Davis and wife Patty and Bradley R. Davis and wife LaDonna both of Philippi
One sister, Janet Eaton of Harrisonburg, VA
One brother, Leon Davis of Indiana
Three grandchildren, Jeremy Davis and fiancée Tristan Coddington of Elk City; Jacqulyn Kester and husband Jeremy of West Milford; and Levi Davis and wife Brooke of Philippi.
Two great-grandchildren, Melea Davis and Destiny Davis
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by one infant son, Edmund Davis and one brother, Renelle Davis.
He retired from Grafton Coal Company as a truck driver and coal miner.
He attended Elk City United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 4-8 pm and on Saturday, November 4th from 8-11 am the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Criss Cemetery.
