Mary Ann Knapp, age 81, a resident of Flemington, passed away Saturday June 24, 2023 in the United Hospital Center. Mary was born June 29, 1941, a daughter of the late David Arthur McCord and Violet Virginia (Starkey) McCord. She was united in marriage to her husband 63 years whom she dearly loved William “Bud” Knapp who survives at home.
Also surviving; six children, Patricia Ann Cobb of Philippi, William Knapp Jr. and wife Donna of Belington, Peggy Taylor of Junior, Trenna Mouser and husband David of Galloway, Jerrel Knapp and wife Chrissy of Galloway, Dwayne Knapp and wife Tracy of Philippi; 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Evelyn Smith of Galloway, Sherry Stutler of Flemington, Annette Wilfong and husband Curtis of Parsons, Velma Foster and husband James of Brownton, Darlene Hudkins and husband Charlie of Brushy Fork Community, Buddy McCord of Brownton, Paul McCord and wife Paula of Philippi; several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, David and Violet McCord; brothers, Sonny McCord and Gary McCord
Mary loved making crafts, cooking, collecting dolls attending yard sales, camping, and attending Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandbabies. Mary was a great women and best friend to many, she will be great missed.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday June 29, from 11am – 4 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 pm with Pastor Scott Davis officiating.

I meet Mary through Roy’s family longtime age she made me a doll of little rocky that was sweet of her she is a good friend too
To the Knapp family, Some of you, Bill Jr, his daughters, Peggy and the others we are not familiar with, but this is to you too. We are sorry for the loss of your wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Bill Jr. talked about her sometimes and she must have been a great mom and wife and loving to her family.
