Richard Franklin Starkey

Richard Franklin Starkey, age 71, a resident of Brownton Community, passed away Tuesday April 21, 2020 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1948, in Barbour County, a son of the late John and Eva Leola (Glover) Starkey. He was united in marriage on March 22, 1969 to Wilda Lee (Trader) Starkey who survives at home. Also surviving- Children, Richard Franklin Starkey Jr. of Brownton Jeffery Michael Starkey and wife Regina Starkey Swaney of Galloway Debra Jean Singleton and husband Dave of Jane Lew Sisters, Charlotte Darlene Farris and husband Kevin of Brownton Estella Mae Farris of Galloway Ethel Mae Foster and husband Roger of Galloway Sherry Lynn Cummings and spouse of Clarksburg Kelly Kovar and husband Frank of Shinnston Brother, Willard Lee Starkey of Flemington Four grandchildren, three great grandchildren Mr. Starkey was preceded in death by four brothers, John W., Jr., Robert Glenn, Charles Roscoe, an infant brother and a half-sister, Wannetta Jean Rosier Mr. Starkey worked as a coal miner of various mines. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. A private graveside service will be held at Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
