William "Bill" Ketchem

William “Bill” Ketchem, age 83, a resident of Talbott Personal Care Home, and a former resident of Philippi, passed away Monday December 14, 2020 surrounded by his daughters. Bill was born August 28, 1937 in Barbour County a son of the late Edward and Mary Eva (Daugherty) Ketchem. Surviving is- Daughters, Kelli (Ketchem) Shomo Ganoe and husband Jim Kimberly (Ketchem) Mitchell Lisa (Ketchem) Brown and husband Lonny all of Philippi Grandchildren, Rachelle “Shelly” Shomo Wolfe, Billy Lee and Jenna Brown, Parker and Maggie Mitchell Great-grandchildren, Tyler Shomo, Madalynn and Brock Wolfe, Easton Brown Bill was preceded in death by wife Elsie (Poff) Ketchem, Brother, Robert Ketchem, sisters, Beverly (Ketchem) Dadisman, Barbara (Ketchem) Pitman, grandson, Derek Shomo, great- grandson, Derek Wolfe. Bill retired as a coal miner and had worked in various mines. Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman, and bowler, he enjoyed socializing with his friends and family. Bill request for cremation will be honored. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association 225 N.
