Winona Mae Mouser

Winona Mae Mouser, age 89, a resident of Bridgeport, passed away on Saturday September 23, 2023 in the Clarksburg Healthcare Center. Winona was born April 3, 1934 in Barbour County, WV a daughter of the late Ira and Madge (Heckert) Fridley. She was united in marriage to her husband of 67 years Lester Nolan Mouser who preceded her in death March 4, 2022. Surviving are her children David Mouser and Trenna of Galloway, Carol Welch of Braxton County, and Nancy Smith and Harley of Bridgeport. Sisters Rosa Lea Kines of Philippi, Elizabeth of California, and sister-in-law Mary Lee Fridley of Bridgeport. Along with grandchildren Ashley Mouser and companion Rob, Desirea Mouser and companion Don, Popeye Mouser and wife Sammi, and Dakota Mouser. Great-Grandchildren Haleigh, Kenzleigh, Millie, Corbin, and Kayleigh Johnson; and Hudson Mouser and several nieces and nephews Winona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight brothers, Ruble, Robert, Ralph, Perry, Jim, LeRoy, Hubie, and Bobby, as well as her sister Violia. Winona was a homemaker, a member of the Brushy Fork CEOS, loved to sing gospel music, and enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, babysitting, and spending time with her family. Family and friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home and on-site crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday, October 1 from 3 pm – 8 pm and on Monday, October 2 from 9 am – 11:30 am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 am with Reverend Scott Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Wright Funeral Home to help offset the funeral expenses.
