Carol Bean

Barbara Carol Bean, age 69, a resident of Philippi passed away Saturday November 25, 2023 in the Davis Medical Center in Elkins.  Carol was born October 10, 1954 in Clarksburg, WV a daughter of the late Jack L. and Helen M. (McCourt) Newbrough.  Carol was united in marriage to Monte C. Bean who survives at home.

Also surviving are; daughters, Jennifer Prince, Stephannie Long, Rebecca Martin, Sarah Albright, and Angel Cox; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; siblings, Kathy Houser and husband Rick, Kurt Newbrough, Chirs Newbrough, and Constance Stemple.

Carol was a loving, charismatic, creative, fun loving, rebel.  She enjoyed camping, traveling, candle making, lamp making, sewing, Monster Trucks “The Mutt” was her favorite, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineer Fan.  Carol was known to be clumsy, some day she should’ve been wrapped in bubble wrap.  Carol liked to unwind to a Budweiser and  cut loose on the dance floor or a bottle of wine by the campfire.  She always dressed up for Halloween to take the grandkids trick or treating.  She would get so excited for Christmas.  Family was always her priority and enjoyed her family most of all.  Carol was a music lover of the Celtic culture country and classic/ 80’s rock and roll.  She was a member of the Jerusalem United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday November 30, from 11am- 12:30 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 pm with Pastor Sam Haught officiating.  Interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery.
