Jerry Wayne Marteney

Jerry Wayne Marteney, age 70, resident of Buckhannon, passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 18, 2021 in Ruby Memorial Hospital. Jerry was born May 28, 1950 in Buckhannon, WV a son of the late George and Joann (Wagner) Marteney. Jerry was united in marriage to his wife Mary Ethel (Edens) Marteney who he dearly loved and missed every day since her passing on October 6, 2018. Surviving is

Jerry retired from SW Jack Drilling as a dozer operator. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #598, he was an avid farmer, and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. Jerry was an amazing Dad, incredible papaw, and pawpaw.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday March 20, from 1-4 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 pm with Rev. Ed McDaniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Marteney Family Cemetery.
