Joan Marie Pitzer, age 81, a resident of Moatsville, passed away Thursday October 12, 2023 at her residence. Joan was born July 27, 1942 in Minden, Michigan a daughter of the late Marcus Sadro and Mary Rose Kowalski. Joan was united in marriage to her husband of 27 years Gene A. Pitzer who survives at home.
Also surviving- granddaughter, Mari Destinee Marie Pitzer of Moatsville; 12 siblings; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Joan was a member of the Barbour County CEOS. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and hunting.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday October 16, from 1-3 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm with Rev. Christine Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Morris Cemetery.
