John Reed, age 77, a resident of Moatsville, passed away Thursday July 20, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side. John Reed, age 77, a resident of Moatsville, passed away Thursday July 20, 2023 at his residence with his family by his side. John was born March 29, 1946 in Stephenson, WV a son of the late Jason and Loena Reed. John was united in marriage to Alta (McCartney) Reed who survives at home.
Also surviving is son, Jon Reed; daughters, TJ Reed, and Becky Reed Smith; adopted children, Connor W. Marshall and Malachi D. Reed; brother Reginald Reed; sisters Kathleen Danials, Freeda Sisk, Lynn Hill, Sharon Fee, Sue Holsey, Marilyn Quesenberry; and his favorite niece Debbie Sue.
John served in the US Army.
He enjoyed fishing, traveling on vacations, and gardening. John was a lifetime member of the VFW. In honor of John’s wishes cremation will be honored.
