Judith Ann Sanetrik, age 71, a resident of Moatsville, passed away Thursday December 7, 2023, in Ruby Memorial Hospital. Judith was born March 4, 1952 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late Lester Aaron and Laura Virginia (Meyer) Mercer. Judith was united in marriage on April 15, 1972, to Thomas Charles Sanetrik Sr. who preceded her in death January 28, 2021.
Surviving are children; Laura Sanetrik and companion Albert Johnson of Bruceton Mills, Marie Post and husband Jason of Augusta, WV, Thomas C. Sanetrik Jr. and wife Jessica of Moatsville; son-in-law TJ Sanders of Morgantown; grandchildren, Frank Demasi IV and wife Danielle of Grafton, Nick Demasi of Redwood City, CA, Beth, John, and Thomas Sanetrik of Moatsville; great grandchild Cohen Demasi of Grafton; sisters Sally Pope of Akron, OH, Mary Jean Gibson of Wheeling; brother Russell Mercer and wife Karen of Barberton, OH; several nieces and nephews.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Virginia Mercer; husband Thomas Sanetrik; daughter Holly Sanders; brothers John Mercer, Pail Mercer, Dan Mercer.
Judith was very active in the CEOS since 1974 in both Monongalia and Barbour Counties. She was nominated for Barbour County Bell for 2024. She was also active in the St. Elizabeth Rosary Society. She was a member of the Barbour County Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing, singing, and loved music of all kinds. Judith was quite the cook, she was known for her famous pies and rolls. She always enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving dinner and always loved having a house full at other gatherings in her home. Judith loved her grandchildren; she was very proud of them. Every night the grandchildren would come over for game night, which she and Thomas enjoyed the time spent with them. Family and friends were very important to Judith.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday December 12, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Prayer service will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday. Visitation will resume on Wednesday December 13, from 9- 10:30. A Mass od Christian Burial will be held at 11 am at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Fr. Babu Joseph as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Morris Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Heart and Hand Ministries PO Box 128 Philippi, WV 26416.
