Nancy Ann McDaniel, age 85, a resident of Philippi, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 in Mansfield Place. Nancy was born July 11, 1938 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Harry and Nora (Shaffer) Wolfe. She was united in marriage on August 3, 1957 to her husband Fred McDaniel who survives.
Nancy is also survived by her children Susan and husband Albert of Philippi, Daniel McDaniel and wife Donna of Pt Pleasant, and Sharon of Philippi. Her grandchildren Cameron McDaniel and wife Amber of OH, Ashley McDaniel of Pt. Pleasant, and Rachael Ketchem of Philippi. Along with great grandchildren Marley, Clover, Scotty, and Aiden. Also surviving are her siblings Jim Wolfe and wife Judy of Grafton, John Wolfe of Fellowsville, and Charles Wolfe of Elyria, OH.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Virginia Knight of Maryland, Jane McKinney of Grafton, and Freda Hall of Albright. Her brothers River and William Wolfe of NC, Robert Wolfe of Grafton, Samuel Wolfe of Baltimore, MD. She was also preceded in death by her grandchild Samantha (Ketchem) Muncy.
Nancy worked as a registration clerk at Broaddus hospital.
Family and friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday, October 1 from 4 pm – 8 pm and on Monday, October 2 from 9 am – 2 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Mary’s Chapel Cemetery.
